Net Metering
The Net Metering Law in Pennsylvanig assures you that your regulated electric company will accept the electricity that you generate with your solar PV system in place of electricity that you would normally use from them. Each kWh that you generate offsets the energy delivered to you on a one-to-one basis.
You get paid retail for the excess
If you generate more electricity than you use, you will have excess electricity credited on your bill. Annually, you will be paid the "price-to-compare" in Pennsylvania by your electric company. You can find the "price-to-compare" in the PA Office of Consumer Advocate's Electricity Shopping Guide.
